Getting The Most From This Site
If you are in need of writing resources of any kind, this site will point you in
the right direction, even if it doesn't have the precise information you might be looking for.
Often it will though. It is one of the most comprehensive and frequently updated classified
directories of writing and related sites on the Internet. Over time we have seen many similar
sites come and go but we keep going from strength to strength. Maybe it's because we don't have
the GRQ (get-rich-quick) mentality so prevalent nowadays. Everything is categorized as shown in
the menu at left. To keep things as simple as possible, most entries appear in only one
category, even though they might have some material that is appropriate for another. That's
why we installed a Site Searching facility that allows you to find key
words regardless of categorization.
Have A Writing Resource To Include?
All the resources listed on this site are archived from our Announcement Mailing
List 101 Writing and Publishing Answers.
If you are a writer or publisher, or a supplier of services to those in these fields, you can announce your own resources (or resources you
have found) to our worldwide audience of people who have a direct interest in these areas.
Announcements must be about Internet resources and must have an obvious
association with writing, publishing or print/electronic media. An Internet resource is one that
uses a URL (i.e. a web address, an e-mail address, etc) as a means of contact. Making an
announcement on the 101 Writing and Publishing Answers mailing list is the best way to get a
resource included here (and on the 101 Publishing Answers website), or you can submit
details directly by email (see Linking Information).

How Resources Are Categorized
Categorizing resources is no easy task because so many sites cover more than one
facet of their particular field. In other words, many sites would qualify to be grouped under
more than one category if we allowed it. This kind of repetition, though, is undesirable from
our point of view because it bloats the directory and makes 'browsing' for resources more
difficult. For this reason we decided to include only one entry per site but to categorize them according to the main focus of the site, whatever that
might be. To overcome the problem of resources not being represented in other appropriate
categories we have incorporated a simple Search Facility by which 'key
words' used in the thumbnail site descriptions can be found. However, if you believe a resource
on this site would be more appropriate if filed in a category other than the one we have used,
please let us know by writing to contact-us at the domain* 101writinganswers.com with Wrong Category in the Subject
field.
How Resources Are Displayed
The left column menu shows the types of content available. Browse for resources
by clicking on the Categories Index, or click on one of the
sub-headers under it to see the resources in that 'theme'. Each resource is described by a short
text outline which includes another link to its actual World Wide Web site or email URL. Or you
can use the Search Facility (available from the same menu) to find any
'key' word(s) that appear in resource descriptions.

Use the left column menu to find resources by 'browsing', or use our Search Facility to find resources through the use of keywords.
